Updates

Scheduled

We are upgrading the NVMe SSD storage hardware at our RMA (Rümlang) region. In the course of this upgrade, all existing NVMe SSD storage hosts will be replaced by more powerful systems. At the same time, we are also expanding the storage capacity to keep up with our general growth.

On Thursday, 2020-09-10, from 21:00 CEST, we will perform the first phase of the overall process. In this first phase, we will grow the cluster to the new host count and capacity by adding new hosts and replace some of the existing hosts. During this maintenance window, we expect periods of degraded performance (access time, throughput/IOPS) of NVMe SSD volumes.

During the days following this maintenance, the existing data will be rebalanced across the enlarged storage area, which might result in slightly reduced NVMe SSD storage performance while rebalancing is in progress.

The storage cluster at our LPG region is not affected by this maintenance.

Date / Time
Thursday, 2020-09-10, 21:00 CEST to Friday, 2020-09-11, 03:00 CEST

Expected Impact
We expect periods of degraded performance of NVMe SSD volumes at our RMA region during this maintenance, and a slight performance impact during the subsequent days.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
